Research

My research is in the theory and applications of image processing, pattern recognition and swarm intelligence. Currently, is spend most of my time working on my PhD thesis regarding multi-agent visual SLAM system.

I am one of the core software developers in the "Implementation of a fast embedded system for image analysis using FPGA technology, for application in mobile systems" research project funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education Grant No. N514 213238. My main task is the analysis and optimization of feature points detectors and descriptors.

I was also a developer in the  research project funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education Grant No. N514 294635 where I was responsible for the implementation of the visual SLAM system for a hexapod robot. I participated in the FP7 STREP project OPNEX where I was involved in the analysis of the routing algorithm stability and the node-cooperation enforcement.

Moreover, I am cooperating with Prof. Roman Lewandowski on the application of the Particle Swarm Optimization in the design of active vibration control systems.

I am also the administrator of the face images database (the PUT Face Database) which is used for the development of the face recognition systems in over 220 scientific institutions.
